Barry Steele & Friends: The Roy Orbison Story
Known as one of the leading Roy Orbison tribute singers, Barry Steele has wowed audiences all over the world with his stunning ability to replicate the music legend’s look and sound.
Barry is celebrating his tenth anniversary on tour, with dates planned from January through June 2018. The tour will make stops at Bolton Albert Halls, Grand Opera House York, Perth Concert Hall, Thameside Theatre Grays, Swan Theatre Worcester, Oxford New Theatre, Billingham Forum and more.
Mr. Steele takes on the role of the iconic musician Roy Orbison. In 2018, the show celebrates The Roy Orbison Story 30 Year Special. Barry Steele and his band will take audiences on a ride through Orbison’s career, from the Sun years through the 1980s.
The 80s was a peak time in Orbison’s career. He worked with Bruce Springsteen and the Traveling Wilburys, which included Bob Dylan, George Harrison, Jeff Lynne and Tom Petty.
Audiences will enjoy an evening of classic 60s and 80s hits. Along with Orbison’s own hits, Steele will also perform the music legend’s hits made popular by Jeff Lynne & ELO, Jerry Lee Lewis, Del Shannon, The Spencer Davis Group and George Harrison.
Barry’s career as a Roy Orbison tribute singer started after he entered a singing competition with his daughter. A fellow competitor told him he sounded just like Orbison, and the rest was history.
To date, Mr. Steele has toured Germany, UK, New Zealand, Holland, Ireland, Denmark and Austria.

Boogie Williams has more than two decades of experience in the music industry, and has performed all over the world, from Canada to Japan and Germany. In the show, he also pays tribute to the great Jerry Lee Lewis.
Singer-songwriter Roy Orbison was famous for his impassioned, distinct voice and complex song structures. The singer had 22 songs on the Billboard Top 40 between 1960 and 1964, including “In Dreams,” “Crying,” “Oh, Pretty Woman,” and “Only the Lonely.”
After falling out of the public eye in the late 1970s, Orbison returned in the 80s with several singers covering his songs. He also founded the Traveling Wilburys group, which included music legends Tom Petty, George Harrison, Jeff Lynne and Bob Dylan.
Orbison was inducted into both the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1987. Two years later, he was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame.
